Summary preceding the following: "Unit L-105, former designation Lilly Realtin, had designed a set of mental process-altering chips with the purpose of training young ladies' minds for entry into the tech-guard. Those chips have been taken by other parties (see: Lady of Silver video log) and are being used to violate human rights and various laws by exerting extreme mental influence over chosen victims. This is a conspiracy of mental domination and internal corruption that should be brought to justice."

  3. [09:21] <Narp> "The schematics you saw were for a Tech-Suit of my own design. A metalloid structure that I have been working on since my daughter-unit has been 12 years of age."
  4. [09:22] <Narp> "The suit I designed has one simple purpose... as you are no-doubt aware. Many young girls dream of some day becoming Tech-Guard. You were, no doubt, one yourself?"
  5. [09:23] <A-038> "No doubt indeed." She regrets it partially though; she did not expect the organization to be so bureaucratic. Regret, that human emotion.
  6. [09:24] <Narp> "However. The mental faculties that involve in the process of integration into the Tech-Guard sometimes... do not mesh. As you are aware: Each tech-guard is of two minds."
  7. [09:25] <Narp> "A machine mind. And an organic, analogue mind."
  8. [09:25] <Narp> "The machine is the pure logic and will of the empress. The organic is the human that... still remains..." she looks down at herself.
  9. [09:27] <Narp> "There are occasional hiccups. Minds that, for one reason or another, do not mould well with the machine. I, for instance, am a near-perfect specimen. My mechanical and analogue selves have melded so seemlessly that I no longer know which aspect of me is the machine and which aspect of me is the human."
  10. [09:29] <Narp> "But to some Tech-Guard, this is not the case. I wish to assist this in being the case, however. And I theorized the best way to do so was to introduce young girls to the process of digital/analgoue melding from an earlier state. Introduce them to the process while they are young and easy to adopt certain new thought-patterns."
  11. [09:30] <Narp> "And so... the suits are designed to do just that. To give young girls the process of feeling as though they are tech-guard without truly making them into one."
  12. [09:30] <Narp> "This way, even girls who simply lack the Empress's blessing or grace to deserve the honour may know how it feels to join her exalted ranks."
  13. [09:31] <A-038> "Those intentions are quite valiant and rational indeed." Again, sincere; she would compliment L-105 for this if it was not for previous incidents. "Readying candidates for entry into the tech-guard would most certainly ease the transition and merging of the two minds."
  14. [09:32] <Narp> "Thank you... however," she looks at you.
  15. [09:32] <Narp> "I can sense you are... concerned?"
  16. [09:32] <Narp> "I know you assisted my daughter-unit and her friend-units in an event that seems disturbingly similar to as I have discussed."
  17. [09:34] <A-038> "Yes; it would appear that similar technologies have already appeared outside of this facility, and are already being abused in human rights-breaching activities." Fully truthful, just omitting the full extent of her concern.
  18. [09:35] <Narp> Lilly looks up, and nods.
  19. [09:35] <Narp> "I have already uncovered two incidents of this..."
  20. [09:35] <Narp> "Allow me to elaborate..."
  21. [09:36] <A-038> "Do go on." No nod accompanies this; that is a protocol she has lost.
  22. [09:36] <Narp> "The device's primary component, the aspect that allows the analogue and digital mind to blend, is a chip."
  23. [09:37] <Narp> "A chip that, when placed into any recieving object, even one as simple as a head-set, can allow the proceedure to commence."
  24. [09:37] <A-038> A chip, like the one that was found upon citizen Clements... and that was promptly lost by those three "fairy" girls.
  25. [09:38] <A-038> "In that case, the suit merely provides the physical qualities of most tech-guard models, while the chip provides the mental faculties, no?" following smoothly enough.
  26. [09:39] <Narp> "Correct. The suits are designed to merely enhance the feeling. The chips, however, are naturally drawn to the suits. So that integration may assist."
  27. [09:40] <Narp> "The chips that I have encountered... the ones inside the suits worn by unit Starling, and Unit Kolduni and my Daughter-unit were lesser versions of the true ones. And the one I found inside the suit of... a rogue one I uncovered, was in fact a true one."
  28. [09:40] <A-038> "What would 'drawn to the suits' mean in this case?" asking before L-105 continues.
  29. [09:41] <Narp> "Should an individual wear a device that posesses a chip in it, even if no suit is provided, they will instantly seek out any designated tech-suits."
  30. [09:41] <A-038> At this point, A-038 figures that it would be impractical to type up everything in this explanation so far; instead, she will send out a video recording of this entire conversation. Such will explain everything in greater detail.
  31. [09:41] <Narp> "And put them on."
  32. [09:42] <A-038> "That is quite an intriguing facet of the programming." And a worrying one to boot.
  33. [09:42] <A-038> "Do elucidate on this 'rogue' suit, unit L-105." Perhaps one of the previous two victims?
  34. [09:43] <Narp> "... I cannot express much, however: I can say it was releated to that unregistered explosion that happened in building 5022."
  35. [09:43] <Narp> She's probably talking about Samantha.
  36. [09:43] <Narp> The movie star.
  37. [09:44] <A-038> "This unit has heard of such an incident; how would a rogue suit have appeared in the 'wild,' so to speak, much less involved itself in such?"
  38. [09:46] <Narp> "... this unit is unaware," is all she says.
  39. [09:47] <A-038> "Is it not all but clear that the technology has been leaked, then? That is a greater cause for concern than anything else." And something she should probably make it clear to all, once she can lift the protocol.
  40. [09:47] <Narp> "This unit is well aware of this. This unit is attempting to do all she can to solve this problem."
  41. [09:48] <Narp> "Now please. Allow this unit to elaborate more on the device, as the investigations I involve myself with are unrelated to this protocol."
  42. [09:49] <A-038> "Very well." Investigations... she must be working with [whatever Chantal and Alexis's designations were].
  43. [09:50] <Narp> "The 'lesser chips' which I have mentioned, rely on a true-chip as a primary hub. Think of it as, the true-chip is the root program with which the lesser-chips act as submodules. They may function, but only with the true-chip's active guidance."
  44. [09:50] <Narp> "This was not apart of the original design."
  45. [09:50] <Narp> "Which concerns me..."
  46. [09:51] <A-038> "In other words, a network of influence over programmed protocols in the artificial, mechanical minds can be constructed," so A-038 infers.
  47. [09:52] <Narp> L-105 nods.
  48. [09:53] <Narp> "Anyway. The primary difference is that while my original designed called for the technological interface and the human mind to seemlessly blend..."
  49. [09:53] <Narp> "These chips seem to be able to... hijack. Individual's brains. At least partially."
  50. [09:53] <Narp> "Certain primary identity protocols can be... sussumed, essentially."
  51. [09:54] <A-038> "Overriding the human half with the mechanical mind entirely, much like what had occurred with the human-based 'androis' in the train incident," further putting two and two together. "Since a 'true chip' can control a series of 'lesser chips,' this could easily result in a network of direct mental influence and hijacking of psyches, could it not?"

  53. [09:55] <Narp> "Supposedly," is all she says.
  54. [09:56] <Narp> "In the brain of every human there are core truths that each can hold to. Truths such as: 'I love my husband' or 'I am human' or 'I value my friends'. These are not stable truths, not like true programming. Humans can be convinced of new truths and 'change their minds' as it were."
  55. [09:58] <A-038> A-038 waits for L-105's continuation.
  56. [09:58] <Narp> "These chips, as far as I can tell, seem to be able to subside various 'truths' of these subjects. 'I love my husband' could be made into, 'I follow my programming', 'I am human' into 'I am a robot', 'I value my friends' into 'human relations are meaningless'."
  57. [09:59] <Narp> "They do not so much replace 1 human's mind with a robot's, but rather place robotic functions where human-thoughts should be."
  58. [10:00] <Narp> "... the more I analyze it. The more fascinating it is. I never realized my chips could hold this purpose entirely."
  59. [10:08] <A-038> "It is a most intriguing development. This unit offers further praise for having the skill to develop such." Once again, she is being frank. Marta feels that this is an advancement that deserves legitimate praise; like any tool though, it has purposes that can be used for the sake of improvement of society, and purposes that generate entropy in society. As the chips currently stand, with rogues out in the wild...
